Digital Printing Alternative Surfaces: Fabric

This workshop is designed to be your complete guide to digital printing on fabric. We will look at silk, cotton, canvas and lutradur. During the course of this workshop you will be introduced to many ideas for you to continue your exploration of the alternative digital printing process with fabric once the workshop is over.
Learn how easy it is to print these wonderful alternative surfaces. In just 90 minutes you will be up and running with digitally printing on fabrics. We will discuss what you need to get started and then delve into the entire process starting with precoating surfaces all the way through the print process using Photoshop CS6.

The fiber work of artist Kathyanne White, has been exhibited in solo and group exhibitions in museums and galleries throughout the United States and abroad. Her work is in the collection of the Museum of Arts and Design, the American Folk Art Museum and the Archives of American Art of the Smithsonian Institution. She is the recipient of a 2009 Artists Project Grant from the Arizona Commission on the Arts. After being chosen for an Artist Residency in Yosemite National Park, White won the First Place Award in the Yosemite Museum Gallery Show, Yosemite Renaissance XXII. Several years in Yosemite Renaissance XXVI she again was chosen for an award.
Kathyanne has been featured in a variety of arts publications including Fiber Arts, Surface, American Style, Folk Art Magazine, The Metropolitan Spirit, Log Home Design Ideas, Quilting Arts and New Zealand Quilter. In 2001 she was named a “trendsetter” in Art Business News, as an emerging artist. Fiber Arts Design Book #7 includes White’s work and her work appears in several catalogues including, Six Continents of Quilts: The Museum of Arts & Design Collection, 2003 Masterpieces: Spirit and Strength, and Tied Together: Textile Art in the 21st Century.
White’s workshops focus on innovative strategies for expanding the digital print to uncommon surfaces. At venues such as the Surface Design Association Conference, “Off the Grid” 2009, Handweavers Guild of America, Convergence 2010 and Hudson River Valley Artists Workshops, Artfest and others: she inspires students to create quality digital prints on alternative surfaces for their artwork. Through the KathyAnne Art website, White creates workshops and tutorials, so others are able to learn and expand their techniques through the expanded digital print process.
